Cybersecurity and Fraud Awareness
Since the establishment of Ark Group, protecting customer information and financial asset has become our responsibility and mission. Cybersecurity has become more important than even with a large amount of sophisticated cyber threats and attacks and attackers may seek and obtain information for financial gain. In response, we have established an effective and continuously improving cybersecurity management system to treat with various od new threats and external attacks.
As a responsible financial company, we have an obligation and responsibility to reminder all investors of the cyber-attacks and external threats that may or are currently occurring. We hope that the knowledge sharing here could help our customer to equip a certain awareness and ability to protect themselves and avoid falling into traps created by attackers due to lack of cybersecurity awareness.
Understanding the threats
Phishing
Phishing is a type of attack that sends fake or forged emails, using deceptive terms or language to get victims to click on the links in the emails and enter their financial account numbers or to trick victims into downloading and running email attachments. The ultimate goal of attacker is to steal customers’ personal information and commit financial fraud or illegally transfer financial assets.
Bruce force attack
All publicly available information you leave on the internet media (such as email address, nickname, username, mobile phone number, etc.) are what attacker like to collect, specialty attacker obtained the same password you used for different platforms login, they may try to login to another related financial platform. As the result, it is very likely to cause lass of the funds or personal information leakage.
Fraud
The ultimate goal of all external threats is taking your money and fraud/ scam is the fastest, most effective approach to steal your assets and funds. When you believe the scammers, you may not get back the money back anymore. Scammer may tell you about some financial products with incredible returns and no investment risk or ask you to provide your financial account. These are common approaches that you may encounter:
Email: You may receive some emails from senders or financial platforms that look familiar to you in your personal mailbox. These emails might contain glamourous wordings, which may be intended to make you complete a transfer or click the URL and login to the financial platform in the email. Actually, you will find that the email address is not exactly same as the source you are familiar with if you observe the address carefully. There may be some character changes in the sender address that are not easy to observe, such as from ‘’o’’ to ‘’0’’.
Phone: You may receive a call claiming to be from Ark Group in someday. The person on the phone may know you name, and even your basic personal information. After gaining your trust, he/she may recommend you dome products with surprisingly/ unreasonably high returns and recommend you to download some unknown/ malicious application (APP). Please be aware such calls and it may involve phone scam.
Social media: You may install various applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, WeChat, LinkedIn, WhatsApp etc. Stranger may add you as friend and claim to an employee of a well-known financial platform. After obtaining trust, they may recommend some financial products that seem be have high returns or yields and require the installation of certain APP. For these people you don’t know, please be wary of financial fraud. Their purpose is just to let you ‘deposit’. When you deposit the funds, they may disappear immediately. If you encounter an account claiming to be an employee of Ark Group on social media platform, or see any suspicious financial product advertisements. Please be vigilant. We recommend you to verify the relevant information through official communication channel and avoid loss due to credulous false advertising,
The Security that we provide
Data encryption
When you become our customer, all personal information and financial data you submitted to us will be encrypted and stored using strict standard algorithms to protect your important data from being viewed by unauthorized persons, even internal staff in the company. In additional to data storage, double authentication will be conducted according to regulatory guideline when you review personal asset via APP of Ark Group, all data will be transmitted via encrypted channel (HTTPS). Defense against cyber attacks
You may occasionally hear about some financial companies being attacked by hackers. The reality is that exploratory cyber-attacks occur every minutes and seconds. In order to protect your personal information and financial assets, Ark group has established a comprehensive cybersecurity management system to deal with various cyber-attacks. You may not feel their presence when using our financial services, but our intrusion prevention, security audit, privilege management, application security etc. and other mechanisms are always discovering and solving various security risk to protect your information security.
Strong support from service provider
Beside the information security capabilities, we also use the security services of leading international cloud service providers (Amazon Cloud, Alibaba Cloud). These external forces can enhance your protection in terms of data security, financial security, etc. Moreover, maintaining full communication and cooperation with external security companies is also an important part of our information security construction. We have signed strict data processing agreements with third-party service providers to ensure that they comply with Personal Data Protection Act in Singapore and other relevant laws and regulations to protect your data security.
How do you protect yourself?
Don't use the same password for multiple accounts
Avoid using simple and identical login passwords on different platforms. This can prevent hackers from using the same password to log in to your other internet platforms, especially financial platforms. When setting passwords, you may use Chrome, Firefox’s password management tools to help generate and record complex website passwords, and change passwords regularly to enhance account security.
Only install software and application from trusted sources
Only download application from official app stores (such as Google Play, Apple App Store) or from the official websites of financial institutions. Conversely, apps from third-party or unknown sources may be tempered/ modified by malware and should not be downloaded casually.
Don’t believe “incredible” news
Financial information claiming to have ultra-high yields and no risks is likely to be false. This is also a common fraud method used by financial fraud groups. All financial products have risks, and any investment product that claims "high returns and low risks" should be vigilant. When you receive such information, you must be vigilant. The first action that you should do is to hang up the phone. If they tell you a financial platform you used, you may contact the official customer service of the relevant platform to verify or understand the truth. Before making any investment decision, you should also read the risk disclosure documents of the product carefully and consult professional financial planner.
Verify the identity of the sender
Sometimes, we send you information about out latest activities or services via email. All addresses will be suffixed with @arkwealth.sg, so all email from other suffixes claiming to be from Ark Group are not trustworthy. When verifying the email address, please be sure to carefully check the English suffix, because scammers usually replace the English letters in the name and send you emails pretending to be from ARK Group. If you receive an email that appears to be from ARK Group and asks you to provide your personal account or purchase financial products on other financial platforms, you can contact ARK Group's customer service immediately to confirm the authenticity of the information.

Please note that with the increasing sophistication of fraud, scammers are now able to accurately spoof email addresses. Even if you receive emails from the domains we listed above, you should remain vigilant and be highly alert to any suspicious behavior or requests.
